DANCING SOULS

they swirl in the dark

soft as wind through trees

they welcome me with silence

you are here

they whisper

but not like us

their touch is cold

but their words are warm

you have life

and that is a gift

they say

do not forget

to live it

and as they fade

back into the earth

they leave me with peace

and a promise—

i’ll return

when you need to remember

**The Quiet Wisdom of Cemeteries**

Cemeteries are strange places. They are filled with silence, with the weight of lives that once were and now are gone. There’s something peaceful about them, something that whispers to us in the quiet, urging us to slow down and reflect. We often think of them as spaces for mourning, but they are also places where the boundaries between life and death blur, where we can feel the presence of something more.

In those moments of stillness, surrounded by graves and memories, we come face to face with the reality of life’s fragility. We meet the ghosts — not just the ones we imagine, but the echoes of those who have lived, loved, and lost. They are not here to haunt us. Instead, they offer a gentle reminder that time is short, and that life is a gift we shouldn’t waste.

There’s a strange comfort in knowing that death is not the enemy but a part of the journey. The spirits we sense, real or not, are like old friends who visit us when we’re seeking peace. They don’t speak of regret or fear. Instead, they remind us to live — to truly live, while we can. They remind us that every day we have breath, we have an opportunity to fill our lives with meaning.

Their touch might feel cold, like a breeze on a winter night, but their message is warm. They know something we often forget: that life is precious precisely because it doesn’t last forever. Cemeteries are not just places for the dead, but spaces for the living to remember what it means to be alive. To breathe deeply, to love fiercely, to embrace the fleeting beauty of every moment.

As we walk among the graves, we are reminded that one day we, too, will join the earth. But until then, we have life. And with life comes the responsibility to live fully, to find joy in the simplest moments, to embrace our time with the same quiet grace the souls around us have embraced theirs.

They are here to teach us one simple truth: do not forget to live. In the midst of sorrow, in the quiet of the cemetery, there is an opportunity for peace. An opportunity to remember that, even in the shadow of death, life is still ours to hold. And when we leave, we carry that peace with us — a quiet promise that we’ll return, not when we are ready to die, but when we need to remember how to live.
